The artwork
In Greek mythology, the Moirai determine the course of human life: Clotho spins its thread, Lachesis measures it and Atropos cuts it.
The artwork reduces the myth to those actions. The three figures disappear, leaving hands, intertwined forms and a single red thread. Individual gestures overlap until one Moira can no longer be clearly separated from another; the thread passes through the whole composition and connects them.
Embroidery completes the transformation literally and materially: the thread that represents life in the myth is reconstructed through the actual thread of the artwork.
The garment
A lightweight long-sleeve shirt in 100% combed ring-spun cotton. At 145 gsm, it is designed to work alone or as a layer without being assigned to a specific season. Its clean construction gives the compact artwork room to remain distinct.
